Afirst issue is a kind of promise. Broadcast Digest exists because the sector it covers has, for too long, lacked a publication of record — a place where the work of regulators, station owners, advertisers and the working press is read alongside, and held to the same standard.

We begin with The Reform Decade because the conversation about a domestic advertising allocation, however it is finally framed, will define the next ten years of broadcasting in this country. We will return to that story often, and from many angles.
